1. General Questions
What is CrashedToys.com?
CrashedToys.com is an auction site where you can bid on items that have been deemed total loss by insurance companies, or are repossesed items.

Is there sales tax on items I win?
All Items sold to Minnesota residents are subject to Sales Tax and Licensing Fees where applicable. Non residents are required to pay tax on any vehicle that cannot be registered for road use unless they are a dealer. And you must present your dealer license to avoid paying tax. Tax is required on all parts and accessory sales.

When do auctions close?
Auctions always close at noon on sale day or 5 minutes after the last bid, whichever comes last.

You guys don't answer your phone around noon on Tuesday, why?
We get a large volume of calls around that time, please leave a message and we'll get back to you.

Can I sell something on your site?
No, we do not do consignments. It causes too many problems since people try to dump their junk.

What does Bill of Sale only mean?
It means that no title will be issued from us, and we will be unable to help you get a title for it.

Can I come and look at the items you have for auction?
Absoutely. Be sure to come during normal business hours though, which are 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday, and 9am to 12pm on Saturday.

Where can I find your policies regarding the auctions you run?
On the New User Registration page under user agreement.

2. Using the Auction System
What do I need to do to bid on an item?
First you need to register at the New User Registration page.

I'm having problems registering!
See the questions about registration, which is in the next section.

I forgot my username or password, how can I find out what it is?
Use the User Information Recovery page.

The information I entered when I registered is out of date, how can I update it?
Login with your user name and password then click on "Account Manager" (always located at the top of each page once you have logged in.)

The item closed before noon!
Items close based on server time, which is listed on the auction pages. It is not only possible, but likely that the computer, cell phone, and clock on the wall your watching is several minutes off from server time. Also, you need to refresh the page to see the current time.

Why did the item stay open past noon?
Someone bid on the item within the last 5 minutes causing the auction to be extended 5 minutes from when they bid.

I waited till the last second to bid and the auction ended before I could enter my bid, can I somehow still place the bid?
No. Once an item is closed, the high bidder is the person who gets it, even if someone else later decides that they would have paid more for it. Please remember that the only thing you accomplish by waiting till the last second to bid is that you extend the auction by another 5 minutes.

I bid on an item but I'm not sure if I won, or I want to just see who ended up winning it, how can I check?
You can use the Closed Item Viewer to check. Remember that you are responsible for knowing if you won an item. Saying that you didn't know you won an item is not a valid excuse for not picking an item up.

Does the auction system send me an email when I get outbid?
Yes, although on sale day the email may get delayed or your email account might filter the outbid notice as spam.

3. Registration
Where can I register?
You can register at the New User Registration page.

Why do you require a credit card?
We require a credit to make sure every bidder that uses CrashedToys is a serious bidder.

Will you charge anything to my credit card?
Only if you do not pay for the item you've won, or do not pick it up.

I didn't receive the confirmation email after I submitted my application, why?
There could be several reasons. First you need to make sure that you entered your email address correctly by trying to register again. It's also possible that the server which hosts your email account blocks mail from us. In this case you will have to use a different email account.

I confirmed the account by following the directions in the email, but I cannot bid yet, why?
The account must be reviewed and approved first, which only happens during normal business hours. You will receive an email letting you know if the account was approved or not.

4. Pickup
Can I pick the item up myself?
Absoutely, in fact we recommend this if at all possible due to the problems and cost of shipping very large and heavy items.

When can I pick it up?
You can pick it up during our normal business hours. Those hours are 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday, and 9am to 12pm on Saturday. We are not open on Sundays.

How long do I have to pick the item up?
You have 4 business days to pick an item up once you've won it. After that we charge $20 a day for storage.

What do I need to pick the item up?
Unless you have paid for it before you arrive, you need to bring cash, cashiers check, money order, bank draft, or wire transfer to pay for it. You also need a vehicle to transport it. A Kia Spectra doesn't count as a vehicle to transport it.

Will you help me load it?
Yes, we'd be more than happy to help you load the item after you've paid for it. We have a forklift avaliable. Please remember that we are not liable for any damages or injury resulting from the loading of the item, and that you are responsible for strapping the item down.

5. Shipping
Do you ship items?
Yes, although we recommend that you pick up the item yourself if at all possible. You can also arrange for a shipping company to pick the item you won up for you yourself.

Do you give shipping estimates?
Yes, but only if you have won an item already. We do not give shipping estimates to potential bidders. If you want an estimate, we recommend you contact a shipping company that is able to ship the item you are considering bidding on. We do not crate or pallet items, so be sure the company you contact is aware of that.

Do you ship to Canada?
We do not ship to Canada. If you are buying an item and you live in Canada, you must arrange for the shipping yourself.

In general, how expensive is shipping?
Expensive, you can't use UPS or FedEx, you have to use a trucking company or a tow service. You also have to remember that a semi truck can't deliver the item unless it has some way of getting the item out of its trailer at the destination. So it might not be possible to have it delivered to your residence.

Do you crate or pallet items?
No, we neither crate or pallet items.
