1. General Questions

What is CrashedToys.com?
CrashedToys.com is an auction site where you can bid on items that have been deemed total loss by insurance companies, or are repossesed items.

Where can I find your Auction Rules regarding the auctions you run?
On the New User Registration page under user agreement.

Is there sales tax on items I win?
All Items sold to Minnesota residents are subject to Sales Tax and Licensing Fees where applicable. Non residents are required to pay tax on any vehicle that cannot be registered for road use unless they are a dealer. And you must present your dealer license to avoid paying tax. Tax is required on all parts and accessory sales.

When do auctions close?
We have arranged the vehicles into Sale Lines, giving us the ability to stagger the Close Times of each Sale Line. The first Sale Line will still close at 12:00pm CST, with each subsequent Sale Line closing 20 minutes after the previous Sale Line closes. The sales will continue after the designated close times if there is bidding activity in accordance with our auction guidelines, a 5 minute extension until bidding activity ceases.

Can I sell something on your site?
Yes, we do accept consignments. Please contact Sarah at 651-438-8822 for consignment information.

What does Bill of Sale only mean?
It means that no title will be issued from us, and we will be unable to help you get a title for it.

Can I come and look at the items you have for auction?
Absoutely. Registered Buyers are able to preview all vehicles at our locations in Hastings, MN and Eldon, MO between the hours of 9:00am-5:00pm, Monday - Friday. Vehicle preview at our Eldridge location is Tuesday 8:00am - 5:00pm, or any other day by appointment. Some QCSA locations do not allow the preview of vehicles, so please call before arriving.

Where can I find the Wire Transfer forms to make a wire transfer payment?
Vehicles sold at Crashed Toys - Hastings, MN need to use this Wire Transfer Form.

Vehicles sold at Crashed Toys - Eldridge, IA need to use this Wire Transfer Form.

2. Using the Auction System
What do I need to do to bid on an item?
First you need to register at the New User Registration page.

I'm having problems registering!
See the questions about registration, which is in the next section.

I forgot my username or password, how can I find out what it is?
Use the User Information Recovery page.

The information I entered when I registered is out of date, how can I update it?
Login with your user name and password then click on "Account Manager" (always located at the top of each page once you have logged in.)

The item closed before noon!
Items close based on server time, which is listed on the auction pages. It is not only possible, but likely that the computer, cell phone, and clock on the wall your watching is several minutes off from server time. Also, you need to refresh the page to see the current time.

Why did the item stay open past noon?
If a buyer makes a bid on an item in the last 3 minutes of the sale, the sale will be extended 5 minutes longer than the initial Close Time. The auction will continue to extend by an additional 5 minutes, until no bids are placed in the last 3 minutes of the sale. Example: If a bid is placed at 11:58am CST, the auction will continue to 12:05pm CST. If another bid is placed within 3 minutes of 12:05pm CST, then the auction will extend to 12:10pm CST, and so on.

I waited till the last second to bid and the auction ended before I could enter my bid, can I somehow still place the bid?
No. Once an item is closed, the high bidder is the person who gets it, even if someone else later decides that they would have paid more for it. Please remember that the only thing you accomplish by waiting till the last second to bid is that you extend the auction by another 5 minutes.

I bid on an item but I'm not sure if I won, or I want to just see who ended up winning it, how can I check?
You can use the Closed Item Viewer to check. Remember that you are responsible for knowing if you won an item. Saying that you didn't know you won an item is not a valid excuse for not picking an item up. Crashed Toys will no longer be sending buyers "High Bidder Notification" emails once the auction has closed.

Does the auction system send me an email when I get outbid?
Yes, although on sale day the email may get delayed or your email account might filter the outbid notice as spam.

Do vehicles have a reserve price or minimum bid?
Occasionally vehicles may be subject to a reserve price by the seller. In the event the high bid does not meet the reserve, the high bidder will be notified and given three options. 1) Agree to pay the reserve price. 2) Make a counter offer to the seller. 3) Reject the reserve and counter and stay at original high bid.

How long do I have to pick the item up?

What do I need to pick the item up?

Will you help me load it?
