Delaware Licensing Requirements

Delaware Licensing Requirements

Buying for personal use in Delaware?

Without business licenses, you will need a Broker's help to bid on clean and salvage titled vehicles in Delaware. You can purchase boats, jet skis and snowmobiles on your own without assistance, however.

If you're buying in another state, view the Licensing Map or search our No License Required inventory.

In Delaware, dealers, dismantlers, general businesses and exporters will need to provide CrashedToys an operational license and sales tax exemption forms.

The Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles issues the Delaware Motor Vehicle License, as well as wholesale, trailer and other dealer licenses. The Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles also helps you acquire a Delaware Automotive Recycler License. A business license, required by the state of Delaware, should be obtained from the Delaware Division of Revenue.

These links will provide the forms and information you need to get started with licensing:

Additionally, please complete the following forms and fax them back to CrashedToys' Licensing Department at (800) 787-8650. These documents will be processed within one to two business days of receipt.

Private individuals buying in Delaware may purchase boats, jet skis and snowmobiles on their own but will need to go through a Broker for all clean titled and salvage vehicles.
