Oklahoma Licensing Requirements

Oklahoma Licensing Requirements

Buying for personal use in Oklahoma? You have the green light!

This means you can purchase clean and salvage titled vehicles without business licenses.

If you're buying in another state, view the Licensing Map.

In Oklahoma, dealers, dismantlers, general businesses and exporters are recommended to provide Copart an operational license and a sales tax license for the same physical address, as well as sales tax exemption forms.

The Oklahoma Used Motor Vehicle and Parts Commission issues dealer, dismantler and business licenses. A couple of dealer licenses – the Used Travel Trailer Dealer License and the Used Boat and Motor Dealer License – may be obtained from the Oklahoma Tax Commission, Motor Vehicle Division. The Oklahoma Tax Commission is also where you can get your sales tax permit. Wholesale dealers and used motor vehicle dealers aren’t required to submit this permit.

These links provide the forms and information you need to get started with licensing:

Additionally, please complete the following forms and fax them to Copart’s Licensing Department at (800) 787-8650 or email them to member.license@copart.com. These documents will be processed within one to two business days of receipt.
