In Maryland, dealers, dismantlers, general businesses and exporters will need to provide Copart an operational license and a sales tax license for the same physical address, as well as sales tax exemption forms.
Operational licenses include, but aren’t limited to, dealer licenses and dismantler licenses issued by the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration. Examples of these licenses are Used Vehicle, Wholesale Dealer, Trailer Dealer, Emergency Vehicle Dealer and Automotive Dismantler & Recycler licenses. Business licenses may be obtained by the county office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court or by your local municipality.
The Comptroller of Maryland can issue the Maryland Sales & Use Tax License. This license is not required for wholesale dealers.
