In Rhode Island, dealers, dismantlers, general businesses and exporters will need to provide Copart an operational license and a sales tax license for the same physical address, as well as sales tax exemption forms. The Permit to Make Sales at Retail sales tax license may be obtained from the Rhode Island Division of Taxation.
Operational licenses include dealer, dismantler, rebuilder and business licenses. The Rhode Island Division of Motor Vehicles issues dealer licenses, and the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation issues dismantler, rebuilder and business licenses. Your local municipality can also help you get a general business license.
Additionally, please complete the following forms and submit them to our Licensing Department via our License Uploader. These documents will be processed within one to two business days of receipt. Click here to watch a tutorial video on how to use the License Uploader.
