In Wisconsin, dealers, dismantlers, general businesses and exporters will need to provide Copart an operational license, a sales tax license and sales tax exemption forms. A signed Buyer Identification Card, known simply as a BID Card, is also required for buying vehicles in Wisconsin.
Dealer and dismantler licenses issued by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation are acceptable operational licenses. The Wisconsin Department of Revenue issues the Registration Certificate, including tax type “Sales & Use.” Wholesalers may submit the Wisconsin Sales and Use Tax Exemption Certificate (Form S-211) in place of the sales tax license.
