In Illinois, dealers, dismantlers, general businesses and exporters will need to provide Copart an operational license issued by the Illinois Secretary of State, a sales tax license and sales tax exemption forms. The Illinois Department of Revenue issues the Certificate of Registration sales tax license.
Operational licenses include dealer licenses, dismantler licenses, rebuilder licenses and business licenses. There are several types of licenses that are accepted within each category. Please note, however, that any dealer, dismantler, general business or exporter attempting to bid on salvage vehicles need to have a dismantler license on file with Copart.
